Lock out screen does not appear after CTRL+ALT+DEL

Whenever I try to lock my workstation to walk away from my desk, I just get a
blue screen (not a crash), the computer just hangs up. I have to hit the
power button on the IBM laptop and go into Standby mode to recover. Any
suggestions?

To lock a computer in XP, you press "L" while holding down "Windows Logo" key on your keyboard.
