I support 45 XP Pro machines running audio software at an
educational broadcast facility.

I'm looking for recommendations on how to "lock out" or
make selected Windows functions unavailable to
unauthorized users with password protection, etc.

I'm especially looking to secure control panel settings,
other background software, etc.

The workstations are not networked or internet enabled and
completely standalone. Any suggetions would be
appreciated.

Disable your 'Simple Network Sharing' (can't remeber the
exact name. It's a check box found in any internet
explorer window. Then, make all other user accounts,
Limited. Deny the people access to all the executable
files from the programs / settings you don't want them to
run.
