Location of security groups in AD.

I have a question about where people place security groups within their
active directory.
Does it matter where they are located? If I have a user in a particular OU,
and make them a member of a security group in a totally separate OU (ie. not
a parent or child of the OU containing the user), will that user pick up all
of the permissions assigned to the group?

Yes, location in directory is only for resources organization and GPO
processing - it will not affect group membership and an other options
