Where can user-added AutoCorrect/AutoText (Word) entries
be found, for purposes of backups and for copying to new
computer? I'm using Windows XP Pro/Office 2003. Thanks
much.

AutoCorrect entries
AutoCorrect entries that were saved without formatting are stored in an acl
file; whereas entries that were saved with their formatting are stored in
Normal.dot.
If you have trouble finding the folder in which the acl file is stored, add an
AutoCorrect entry in Word, and then search your hard disk for *.acl files
modified in the last day,
If the username is different on the second machine you will, of course, need to
rename the acl file after copying it over.

For further information you may wish to post to the Word NG.

Thanks. I had already tried the steps you mentioned, to
no avail. The only .acl files I found (even after making
sure all hidden files were shown) were last modified in
2000 and earlier and don't list any of the 2000+ mostly
unformatted entries that I've added. They appear to list
the 'canned' entries that come with Word (?).

Thanks for the advice to post to the Word NG; I think I'll
give that a try. Thanks, also, for trying to help.
