To distribute our corporate chart types I should replace the default
Microsoft Office gr8galry.gra file with a specific version that contains our
chart definitions. Now the problem is locating the correct path in which
Microsoft Graph looks for this file. In Microsoft Graph version 8.0 (Office
97) an easy task. The file can be found here:
{OfficeInstallRoot}\Office\gr8galry.gra. But all the trouble starts with
Graph 9.0 and 10.0 ((Office 2000 and XP). It seems like depending on the way
office was installed (update from earlier version or new install, what
service packs are installed, and so on...) the file resides in an different
folder. Often more than one gr8galry.gra file exists, but just one is really
"active". Till now I didn't figure out a way to make my install routine
replace in every case the correct gr8galry.gra file. Does somebody have a
hint? Or do I really have to search all folders and replace all existing
gr8galry.gra files?
