I am getting a message that the LAC is unplugged. I cannot figure out how to
fix this. The second computer sees this one and can access files but this
computer cannot access information from the second computer. I am at a loss.
Please help. Thanks.

Cindy,

Are these constant messages, or just periodic? Is the other computer able to
access this computer while the messages are active? How are the computers
connected?

Here are some things to try on the first computer:

1. Un-plug the device (hub, switch, router, cable or DSL modem, etc)
that the computer connects to, wait a minute, and plug it back in.

2. Try a different port on the hub, switch, or router.

3. Turn off any power saving options in the network adapter's
properties.

4. Try a different network cable.
