Hello,

I have a new system, with an Asus A8N-E with an AMD 3800+ and 2 SATA II
drives (Hitachi
Deckstars). The system posts fine. I insert the cd that came with the
board, and format a floppy, then chose 1, to copy the 32 bit SATA drivers
( It copies 7 files, it seems.
I then reboot with the XP CD in the optical drive and press F6, as directed.
Windows XP
asks if I want to add drivers. (press S to add drivers, etc...) It lists two
drivers, (calling them, however SCSI device support. or some such thing).
It seems to load them
then. I get the license agreement page, and to accept, I need to press F8.
I press F8, but nothing happens. I press page-down, and then F8 - nothing.
I can not get past the F8 part of the install. I changed keyboards, same
thing.

Any help is appreciated, TIA

Do the keyboards you used have an "F-Lock" key? Many modern keyboards have
this, and should be pressed in order for certain "F" keys to operate
correctly in the WinPE environment. Hope this helps.

Your raid drivers are not loading or are incorrect, or the array may
not be setup properly, SCSI devices are normal for raid, I assume
it's enabled in the bios ?

F6 must be hit over and over at boot with the driver floppy allready
in it's drive, when the specify page comes up use the arrow keys to
select the right raid drivers and then hit enter, it's not finding
the drives or there is an array setup Ctrl+S or F4 usually will allow
you into the raid setup page.

RTFM over and over and make sure your using the right driver.
