loading xp problem

when I try to load xp on my laptop Microssoft windows 2000 Pro. Me,
I get so far then it stops at copying file mosredir.dll and will not load
any further.
What is the problem? Please help

Windows 2000 & ME....Why not do a clean install of xp as microsoft suggests..
Simply install xp cd,boot to xp cd,select install xp,new copy,delete the
partition,
create one,then xp formats and installs auto....

CD may be physically damaged or the cdrom drive is not working to
spec/replace.
