loading XP in RAM via registry ?

hi all

i heard from a friend that PCs with 1GB RAM can speed up
greatly by loading the whole operating system in your
RAM. I currently don't really need more speed on my pc ,
not enough to take risks with it anyway , but I would
like to know if this is true or a hoax.
Another thing , is a pagefile still useful with a GB RAM ?

Your friend does not understand what he is saying. You cannot
load the entire Windows XP O/S into RAM. Read the following:
