Hi, I would liek to check the Load sequence when I startup WindowsXp and
would appreciate if someone can advise me how do I start / boot WindowsXp,
where it displays the programs / apps that are being loaded one at a time?
Thank you, Bob

Hi Bob,

There is no native function to do that. You can control what loads using the
System Configuration Utility (msconfig), but there is nothing akin to the
step-by-step startup option you would find in Win9x. Are you concerned that
something loading at boot is causing a problem?

Maybe at boot press F8 and select BootLog or LogBoot then in root or
windows dir will be nbtlog.txt probably there already full of stuff from
days gone by.

It will show command order I do believe but unfortunately not times2load
times like good old virus free win's did.

Thansk Rick, I am only able to access my system in Safe Mode. When I booted
in Normal Mode, I see WindowsXp Pro loading and icons appear on the Desktop
and then I get the Blue Screen of Death.
I believe I know what HASN'T loaded yet so I thought that if I can see what
WinsowsXp is loading, I might beable to remove / delete the "problem".
Otherwise, it appears that I need to Wipe the "C" Partition clean and
perform a Clean Install of WindowsXp.
A Claen Install of WindowsXp is something that I would rather not do but
given no other alternatives, it may be my on;y option if I am unable to
identfy WHAT is causing the Blue Screen.
Thanks for your help Rick,
Bob

Thanks for your help bumtracks,

I can ONLY access my sysdtem via Safe Mode so I use PF8 ALL the time and
have tried Bootlog but either didn't find anything usefull (or if I did, I
did NOT understand what I got).

I did a SEARCH for nbtlog.txt and NOTHING showed up.

Thanks again for your help,
Bob

gave you bum file name, sorry
maybe search ntbtlog.txt mine's at;
c:\windows\ntbtlog.txt

Hi guys, I deleted / erased the C:\Windows\NTBTEXT.LOG and then restarted my
system, located the file again and copied it (see below).
With my limited knowledge, I am unable to identify WHAT might be causing the
problem that brings on the Blue Screen (when I try and start the system in
Normal Mode) and if anyone can decipher this and advise me WHAT I might be
able to do to start my system in Normal Mode, it sure would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Sometimes I do miss that capability that was in Win9x!

think I'd be in the bios and downgrading graphic card or agp settings to
least settings as that's the last item it apparently loaded. And also
lookin for irq settings as thats what not loading [acpi sys is sharing
irq's] so its maybe hardware snafu. reset memory and cards, connectors in
the case
