I have a legitimate office xp professional cd, that I have used with several
of my computers. I am trying to load it on a used laptop, and it keeps
telling me I have not entered a valid id number. It is the same number I
used for other computers. I know I am entering it correctly. Any ideas?

Keyboards on laptops have embedded num pad, check the BIOS
to see that the keyboard is functioning as a std. keyboard.
The "PK Help" will bring up a table of keys you can click
on.

How many computers are you using that CD /license on at
present?

If it is Office XP Retail, you are only allowed to install it on 1 PC and 1
Laptop, providing you "own" both, and will be only using the Office Products
on 1 or the other, neither being in use simultaneously.
But as far as the PK problem, check to make sure the G and 6, or 0 and O, or
8 and B are not being accidentally transposed by your eyes - it happens as
we become wiser ;-)
