All software has minimum system requirements listed on the package - or if
bought online, in the product description. Does your system meet those
requirements?

If no, you won't be able to use the game.

If yes, visit the website for the game and look in their support pages to
see if they have suggestions for various installation problems their users
encounter. They may have a detailed workaround in a document that you can
download or print out. They might even have a program update that needs to
be downloaded and installed.

Many games won't run unless the user has Computer Administrator
privileges. I have never seen this listed in the System Requirements,
but there you are.

I have windows XP.

Check your computer's characteristics (notably RAM, CPU speed, and
graphics card) against the requirements of the game.

You can add more video memory if your motherboard allows it, through
BIOS; if it is RAM you need, you might buy it, it is cheap.

Good luck
