Lists with Excel 2003

I like to organize my lists for dropdown data selection in a separate
worksheet. I've been using an older version of Excel and could have lists in
a different worksheet. It seems that Excel 2003 doesn't allow this. Or am I
not doing something correctly?

You can use a list on a different sheet, if the range is named. There
