my laptop has linux redhat as its os. I want to put
windows 2000 on as a second os or take off linux
altogether. HOwever, redhat wont acknowledge 'setup' nor
will allow a clean 'setup' Any help?

Provided your laptop support booting from the CDROM, put the 2K CD in and
reboot the machine. It should then start the Windows 2000 setup.

During the setup it will ask you to partition your hard disk as it won't be
able to read the linux formatted EXT2 or EXT3 partitions. Once setup is
complete, your laptop should be linux free.

Although I can't see why you want to do this - Redhat is great!
