wireless Question - XP SP1
I just put in a linksys wrk54g. it works. the kit came
with a 54g wire/wireless router & wpc54g card.
i have it setup and it is working. i can browse the web.
The only way it works is if i physically reove the wpc54g
card and slide it in. Even if I reboot, I get no wireless.
I have to remove the card, slide it in.
Even then, I have to right click on the wireless network
icon in the system tray, choose View available wireless,
select my SSID (it's listed both in preferred and the
other box on the top) and click allow me to connect, then
press the button.
THEN i'm connected.
What a pain in the YOU KNOW WHAT!
So my first question is...how the heck to you avoid having
to go through all that rigamarole about 'view available',
and 'allow me to connect'...why doesn't it just connect to
my home network?
Second, if i reboot, i get no wireless. Why? Why do i have
to physically have to pull the card out? (I have a linksys
USB wireless adapter downstairs on my other XP SP1 pc, and
I have to physically unplug the USB cable and plug it in
to get connected).
Help! Linksys's overseas indian support was no help
reading from their scripts!
