RC1 (5600)doesn't seem to want to see/install it.
WUSB11 ver. 2.8
Had it working on beta 2
Seems there was some 'trick' or procedure to getting it to work
there...(I know, "There usually is DJ")
Thoughts...?

And DJ, that procedure, at least for RC1, is apparently direct
connecting to a USB port, not through a hub. (Picky, picky, picky
-hub worked with beta 2)

While I did do that and installed the driver, RC1 said the network
(router in "mixed" G/B mode)is not compatible with my adapter (B)Hmmm.

Well I came back over to XP, and set the router to "B Only"
I'll go over to RC1 and confirm.

I have the WUSB11 ver 2.6 and I have the same problem.

I tried the direct connection option but that didn't work either. All I get
is an unknown device error.

Anybody have any possible solutions?

Vista Ultimate fails to install my Linksys wireless USB (WUSB11 v2.6 2.4GHz
802.11b) adapter. Vista detects the adapter as a USB device (and gives it a
yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager) when I put in the CDROM
installation disk whereas XP sees it as an adapter. If there is no way that
the adapter can be made to work with Vista then I will have to get a new
wireless adapter but I suspect there may be a work-a-round.

Check on the Linksys Web Site. There is a list of compatible and
non-compatible devices. Some of their products have new drivers that you can
download but there are some that they don't have the drivers for yet.

I've checked there (forget to mention it) but as the adapter is not mentioned
on any of the 3 lists I am led to suppose that there are no plans to issue a
Vista driver. Seems like my problem is more basic- how is it that Vista sees
the USB wireless adapter as a simple USB device rather than an adapter? If a
try to install by selecting adapter "in add hardware" it still comes up with
a message that the device is not compatible and refuses to install it.

If you're using 64-bit Vista, you're out of luck. All of Linksys's new
drivers are for 32-bit Vista. It doesn't say that in the Linksys list, but
it does say it in the file name.

No it's 32 bit but I can't get Vista to "see" the USB adapter- it only sees
it as a USB device and promptly puts a yellow mark in devices! XP sees it OK
and installs it in network adapters. Any ideas?

Just to say I have solved this problem today by downloading the v4 for the
WUSB11 adapter from the Linksys site and installing it. Not only did Vista
see the adapter but installed the driver, and I was connected online
immediately! So no need to buy a Vista-ready adapter sfter all!!
