Linksys BEFSX41 router/firewall

I am running Windows XP pro SP1 with all the latest
windows updates. I had installed a Linksys BEFSX41
router/firewall (has latest firmware ver. 1.50.18) a few
weeks ago and after awhile it cuts off the communication
to my Windows Messenger (ver. 4.7.2009). I'm wondering
what ports I need to open in order for full
functionality. Replies would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have UPnP running on your router and XP.
