Click Tools, Internet Options or Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Options, under
Tempory Internet Files, click "Delete Files", check "delete all offline content", click "OK",
"OK",

Another reported cure is to click Start, Run. In the run box, type "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" without
the quotes and press Enter. Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools, Internet Options,
"Programs" tab, and click on "Reset Web Settings...", click "Apply", "OK"

Now try it again. If it still fails to work, then look here:

Thank-you Malke for suggesting I look at franks page but I cannot open

What do you mean you "can't open it"? Do you mean that when you
physically type the address into a browser's addressbar you don't get
the page? Or Copy/Paste it? Because the page works just fine here. If
you can't get to the Internet at all, that would definitely be a reason
why nothing happens when you click a link in an email.

Opens fine for me too. This is what the page says about not being able to
click on a link, if you still can't get there:

If nothing happens when you click a link:
Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT URL:Internet Shortcut)
and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.
