Links Within Internet Explorer

I am having problems clicking on links on webpages. I
used to be able to open a linked page by holding down
control while clicking on the link. Now if I hold down
control the liked page just opens up in the same window
as before. I am really frustrated at this as it is
slowing down my browsing. Any help on this matter would
be appreciated.

Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab/ Under Browsing.
Reuse windows for shortcuts....

If still no joy and your have Yahoo companion remove it.
