links will not open from outlook 2000

When I receive a email from someone with a url attached I can not open the
url. When I click on the link the PC beeps twice and nothing happens. This
has just recently started happening. Any suggestions on this?

assuming your browser is IE, start IE, then

TOOLS
INTERNET OPTIONS
PROGRAMS

be sure OL is selected in the e-mail tab

Try disabling any popup blockers you have and see if that does anything.
