Links open wrong browser

Hello,

I used to use Earthlink, which I was advised uses and Internet Explorer
"shell". I have since changed and now use IE 6.0 with my current ISP.

However, while links in news groups, etc. open in IE 6.0, when I click on a
link in e-mail, it opens the Earthlink browser and loads the page there.

How can I change it to have ALL links open in my open IE browser instead of
opening Earthlink? I do not want to delete the Earthlink software yet, for
I have been unable to import several of my bookmarks from my Earthlink
browser.

Any/all help is greatly appreciated.

Hi

Open IE, go to Tools menu, select Internet options, select Programs tab, set IE to be the default HTML editor and check the box saying IE should check if it is the default browser, hit OK and see if that helps

Thanks for the help, but the oly option I have for HTML editor is "notepad".
