Hi all,
I have created a document that comprises of linked files.
I have 2 questions
1> Why when the linked file is larger than 1 page it does not show in the
document
2> When I try to compose a TOC Word 2003 crashes and sends an error message
to Microsoft.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong ?

It sounds as if you've inserted the documents as document OBJECTS. These would
be OLE objects, that Word manages in the "outer" document as graphics.
Graphics can't break across pages; and only the first page is displayed
through an OLE object.

You don't describe how you're trying to create the TOC, but I suspect it has
something to do with how you've inserted the various document objects. See my
reply to Robb's "Links not showing the complete linked file in the document"
(about three messages removed from your original posting) for an alternate
approach.
