links don't work

the links in my instant messaging service don't work. it's not a problem with
the messaging service because links work when i'm signed in on another
computer. how can i fix this?
 
well, i have AIM 6.0. whenever someone sends me an IM with a link in it, i
click it but it doesn't work. i have to copy & paste the link into my
browser. same thing happens when i try to change the settings. i'm trying to
link screen names & to do that i have to click a link in my settings, but
when i click the link nothing happens.

That's probably not a Windows XP problem, and may not even be a AIM problem.
Some IM programs disable clickable links, unless you reverse the setting.
That's a security measure. It's vaguely possible that a personal firewall, or
antitrojan protection is disabling the URLs too.

What personal firewall / antitrojan / antivirus are you running?
