Here's an odd-ball one for the experts:
Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Pro (All applicable patches etc).
When the user clicks on an any hyperlink with an equal sign in the URL, the
user gets the following message box with "Windows Explorer" as the title of
the error window:
"The path '<whatever appears after the last equal sign>' does not exist or
is not a directory"
The user has several URL's in Tasks that give this same error.
The user cannot click on any link that doesn't begin with http://
The user cannot click on any link that is behind an html button.
The user recently installed (and removed via Add / Remove Programs) MYIE2
browser.
I've tried reinstalling IE (via a KB article to "fool" XP), although it
didn't install correctly (Gotta love it when installing IE Windows throws an
error saying that the software hasn't passed Windows testing and will not
install...but I digress)
Reinstalled Office 2k3 and related patches. Cross checked registry entries
against similar XP box for the following keys under Classes Root:
FTP | Shell | Open
HTTP | Shell | Open
HTTPS | Shell | Open
InternetShortcut | Shell | Open
URL | Shell | Open
This 20 year tech is at the end of his rope as is the end user...anyone
provide any assistance? Next step is the pain of a format and reload with
an email file that is 2.5Gb! (Good thing Outlook 2k3 came along when it
did!)
Thanks in advance!
