Lynn Q

Hi there,

I'm sure there's a simple fix for this. How do I re-set Internet Explorer 6
to automatically open a link that is selected in a message in Outlook 2000?

Using Win XP Pro with all updates applied and Outlook 2000 (also
up-to-date).

I had another browser set as default but changed this back to IE6 but now
have this glitch.

By the Outlook 2000 is the default for both mail and news.

Thanks so much.

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

This info works for OE, use accordingly:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Hyperlinks not opening:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and then repeat the
process for regsvr32 shdocvw.dll.

Check your settings here:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit.

Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

How to set Outlook as default email client. Go to Start/Run and type in:

"c:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient

Then go to IE tools, internet options, programs and select Outlook as your
default email client.
