Links coming up in wrong frames

I am updating my webpage and I have a frames format with a
banner across the top, contents along the left side, and
main page on the right. I haven't had any trouble before
but now when I go to update a link in the contents, the
page that I am linking to isn't coming up in the main
frame, it is coming up in the content frame. I have tried
different things when I change the target frame but I
still can't get it to come up in the main frame instead of
the contents frame. Any ideas?
 
Open the contents page in its own window, set the link
manualy. then close, preview in browser.
