Links bar problem

When I click on the drop-down arrows at the far right of the 'Links' bar in
IE6 the browser hangs, giving me the 'not responding' dialogue box.

Any ideas how I can cure this?

You may have a bad item in your History or Temporary
Internet Files folder or possibly those folders just have a
huge number of items in them. Try this:

Exit IE.
Right click on the IE icon on the desktop.
Properties
Clear History
Yes
Delete files
Delete all offline content
OK
Apply
OK
