Use a crossover cable. A regular cable won't work for connecting two
computers directly to each other.

May I know how to know the difference between a normal and a crossover cable?
I am new to this!

When you buy the cable look for one that's specifically labeled as a
crossover cable. If it's not labeled as crossover then it's a
straight-through (commonly called a patch cable) cable and won't work.

Thanks a lot!
