Is it possible to link to a video with a text link in PP?

I know I can insert/embed in a slide, but I'm wondering if I can link to it
so that it doesn't have to be played as part of the presentation - but can
be chosen if desired.

TIA,
Greg

Hi,

Sure it is. Simply link the text to the video file. Of course, you have to
have the appropriate media player installed for the file to open.

Select the text, rightclick it and choose Action Settings.
Choose Link To: Other File and pick your movie file.

When you click the link during playback, the movie file will launch in whatever
application "owns" that file format (in other words, it'll behave as though you
doubleclicked the movie file). Playback will be in an external app rather than
within PPT.

Depending on the PPT version, you may also get natter about how external files
can give you viruses and make hair grow on your palms and stuff. If we can get
permission, we're thinking about having an MS-Attorney Shoot to raise funds to
have this ahem feature obliterated. Raise money for a good cause, harm only
the turkeys that deserve it ... works for me.
