within my workbook there are some rate's that id like to
link to another workbook containing my ratesheets... im
in the mortgage business and rate's change often... what
id like to set up is a link to the ratesheet ( named in a
generic name )... so when new rates come out all i have
to do is save the new rate sheet as the existing rate
template- since all the cells never change... is this
possible since the new workbook would just over-write the
existing workbook- instead of manually updating every
cell... can someone please tell me what i need to do to
link the workbooks up... i hpoe this makes sense...

Trey,

To make a link to the rate sheet, in the cell that will contain the link,
type =. Then switch to the rate sheet, click the cell to be linked to, and
press Enter. Or you can copy the cell from the rate sheet, and paste link
it into the cell that's to contain the link (Right-click, Paste special -
Paste link).

You can overwrite the linked-to file, as you said, and the file with the
links will never know the difference.

ok do i go into my form and find the rate/s the copy and
then go into my rate sheet and do the paste special?
