I have a large excel spreadsheet that links hundreds of
other microsoft office documents (word, excel, etc.).
When trying to burn it on a CD, all the links work except
from one file. We have tried to delete the link and redo
it and it still does not work. What could possibly be
wrong that would prevent it from opening the link once
burned on a CD.

Thanks,

Debra Ann

Post the link that doesn't work. Does it differ from others generally in any
way? What data are you pulling?

I tried to link the file but there was no attachment and
then I tried to email you, Ken, but it came back
undeliverable.

Ken:

The name of the file is:

Garvie File 010704 CY Estimate Rev I - 031212 (Stripped
040107).xls

As far is if the name is any different than the other
links ... I don't see anything. They were all long names
and all had parentheses in them so I'm not sure why this
file would not link once it was burned to a CD. The link
works fine if you are testing it without burning it to a
CD.

Thanks for any help.

Aaaahhhhh - I wonder!!! I'm no expert on this but I'm just remembering that if
I burn files to CD then depending on how long the filenames are, or how deep the
folders are nested, then it may change the names - Don't know if there could be
any connection there or not.

You need to take the NOSPAM bit out of my email address if you want to send me
anything, and obviously point me to the link that doesn't work when on CD. :-)

Thanks for your help. The file name was being cut off by
three characters so the link would not work.

Thanks again,

Debra Ann
