Linking docs with same information

I have two Word documents (company roster) that are identical except for one
has employees birthdays & the other doesn't. When we get a new employee or
one leaves or personal information changes it is a pain to update both. I
have them both in table format. it would be nice to link them some how so
that when I change information on one of them it changes the other. Is there
a way to do this?
2nd question: is there a way to make it so if I add or delete someone in a
Word Table it automatically moves the others up or down, so I don't have to
go through & move each individual person? They are in alphabetical order so
it is a real pain. If there was a way to sort them by last name that would
probably work too. Thanks for any help you can give

As to your second question, you can delete the rows. Select the row and the
delete command is under the Tables menu.

The way I would deal with your first problem is to have only one document. I
would have the birthdays as a column in the table and when you need a roster
without the birthdays, simply delete your birthdays column. Then close the
document without saving the deletion (or save the changed document to a
different name). That way you are only updating the single document.
