I have 30 workbooks which are linked together. I want to
copy the file and make it available to other users. When
I copy the folder, all the links remain in tact, so if
someone alters the public version, it alters mine. Is
there a way to copy the folder and remove the links
without having to go into each individual worksheet? I
will need to do this monthly and have tried everything.
Thanks

So you mean you have 30 workbook *files* that are linked? If so, which of these
files do you mean when you write "[...] copy the file and make it available to
other users" ? Then you write "copy the folder" and finally "go into each
individual worksheet" . Confusing!

The best approach depends on how the files are linked together. Are they in a
summary-detail relation, so that only one or a few contain links to all or most
of the others? Are they sequentially linked, so that B contains links to A, C
contains links to B, D contains links to C, etc.? Or are they all interlinked,
so that each could contain links to all the others?

Sorry about that. Yes, I ahve 30 workbood files that are
linked together. They are all in a particular folder.
I wanted to copy the folder so I have a master folder for
myself, and a copy of the folder for others to use.
They are sequentially linked together.
Thanks

If you have copies of these files in two separate folders, are you saying that
any changes your users make to the files in the public folder affect the
corresponding files in your personal folder? If so, you may need to ensure that
the external reference links in the files in the public folder point to other
files in the public folder rather than to files in your personal folder. If the
public folder were X:\Public and your personal folder were H:\Personal, I
suspect the files in X:\Public have links pointing to files in H:\Personal, and
your users are letting Excel open the linked files for them, thus opening the
linked files in H:\Personal rather than X:\Public.

AFAIK, there's no alternative to opening each of the files in X:\Public and
changing their link sources to other files in X:\Public.
