Diane

I have a document that was emailed to me. I don't know
what software it was originally created in, but I'm
working on it in Word 2002. Every line in the document is
doublespaced, and I can't change any of it to
singlespaced. What can I do? I've looked in paragraph
formatting ("single spaced" is chosen).

Thanks!

Format > Para

Set the space before and space after to smaller values.

I tried that but to no avail.

The good news is that I was able to solve the problem. I
remembered reading somewhere (on this chat forum,
perhaps?) that most of Word's codes are saved at the end
of a document. So, I copied the whole file except for the
last paragraph into a new document, and the weird spacing
went away.

Yeah!
