Does anyone know what the physical limit is for the number of PHYSICAL disk drives that XP Pro (sp2)
will support? And the number of LOGICAL drives? ( I'm *assuming* this one is A: thru Z:, but the
way MY luck runs, it'll bite me in the butt, if I just assume. ;) )

Thanks a lot,

Tom

There are ninety-five printable, or visible, characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, and
the thirty-two symbols: !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\] ^_`{|}~ and space.
You exclude a few obvious ones, like space, and /,\

The number of physical hard drives is going to be limited by the
hardware in your computer, with the Windows upper limit being the same
as the number of logical drives. I have seen reports from users with
as many as a dozen external (USB) hard drives plus a couple of
internal ones.

You can theoretically use special characters as well as letters for
hard drives, although I have never actually seen a computer where this
has been done. And drive letters A: and B: are reserved for use by
diskette drives so that leaves C: through Z: for hard drives, CD/DVD,
etc.

Good luck
