Limited user will not go into standby mode

I switched my system over to a limited account and created a new admin
account to help aid in the constant security risks. Now when the system is
logged in under the limited account it will not go in to standby mode. I can
force it but it will not do it automatically as it has done for years using
the admin account. Can I change this?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Sam

Temporarily change it back to admin status (via your admin account). Login
and change your power settings via the control panel, to enable the standby.
Then change the account status back to limited.

Thanks for the info. The standby was set up on the account before I changed
it to limited. I did as you suggested and changed it to an admin account
type, rebooted and made a new power setting profile, saved it, rebooted
again, logged on as my user/admin and it went into standby prefectly. I then
logged back in the the admin account, changed the user back to limited,
rebooted and logged on as user/limited and I have no automatically starting
standby mode.

Then it's more likely the process of standing by requires some action
that requires more rights. This would affect everyone if it was a
part of Windows involved, but if it's some driver etc. specific to the
systems you have, then it may persist as a real-world problem.
