"local area connection 3 status" window ive clicked repair and it trys to
renew my ip address which eventuallly says that it cant do it.. ive tried
renewing it manually in wont work either and says to contact my dhsp server
or something like that....

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE

I have been having the same problem ever since I installed SP2 on the 2
computers of my home network (which are connected with a crossover cable).
How can I fix this problem?

Hi,
The Limited or no connectivity message appears whenever your PC fails to
acquire IP addressing from a standard DHCP or ICS (Internet Connection
Sharing) if your PC is DHCP enabled, as a result, windows auto assigns IP in
the range of 169.154.x.x and notifies with Limited or no connectivity. Tell
me more so I'll help you sort it out. What I want to know is: Where is your
PC suppose to get its IP from, DHCP or ICS?

MIke I can see you're on a peer-to-peer, just two PCs. Manually assign your
IP in the range of 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2 subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and
a Gateway/DNS of 192.168.0.1 on both PCs.

Hope that helps Mike.
