Limited logon attempts?

How can I limit the number of login attempts allowed? I'm
getting a LOT of failed security audits within a very
short timeframe (i.e. fifteen failed ones in 10 seconds)
and most of them are Login/Logoff. I'm guessing a
dictionary attack, or something? So anyway, how can I
make my computer stop accepting login attempts after,
say, 3 tries? Not that it should be accepting ANY, but
whatever...

Are you running XP Home or Pro?

For Pro, this can be controlled with the Group Policy Editor (GPEDIT.MSC)

Unfortunately, Home. Horrible decision...
