Limited account logon problem

My Windows XP Home Edition is configured with two user accounts. One account
is a Limited account. When that account is logged on, a series of
approximately 6-8 fast beeps is played. There are no apparent problems after
that. If I change the account to an administrator account, then the beeps do
not play. I have looked at the startup programs in msconfig, and I don't see
anything unusual there. It seems that something is trying to load that
requires administrator privileges. Is there a way to load the startup items
one at a time to determine which item is causing the problem?

Look at your error logs - they should show you exactly what the problem
is. In XP one is called the Event Viewer, in the control panel under
administrative tools.
Another is in the Component Services. Look for a failed
startup. After that, it gets trickier, but you will at least know what is
failing to start or starting improperly.

Eddie,

Thanks for your reply.

In the Event Viewer there aren't any warnings or errors that correspond to
the time noted when the beeps occur.

I'm not sure where to look in the Component Services.
