Hi all,

I Have One license of Windows XP Home Edition.
My question is:

How can I connect to a domain?

this is because I´ve tried to connect to a Lan based on a
Win 2000 server with a domais And I just can´t create the
domain on my computer

In order to legally connect to a domain, you will have to upgrade to XP Pro.
This is one of the limitations of XP Home. I have heard that there is a way
to connect with XP home, but I'm fairly sure that all of these "workarounds"
would violate the EULA. The good news is you can purchase the upgrade
version of XP Pro and simply upgrade Home to Pro.

You can't connect to a domain with XP Home, you need Pro.

Greetings --

WinXP Home is not designed to, nor can it truly be made to, join a
domain.

You *CAN* access *SOME* domain resources using XP home.

For example: To access a sharepoint do this (from the command prompt)
NET USE \\Server\Share /user:Domain\Username

Doing the above command is fine and it's use is well within your EULA.

However to actually *JOIN* a domain you'll need XP Pro.

I hope this helps.
