Hi

I have IE as shell. Can I somehow limit the possibility to enter C: in the
address field to limit access to the drive?

Thanks
Franz

Hi KM,

Thanks for this, I may be use it.
However, it covers Explorer only. It is still possible to enter c: in IE and
it then shows the drive.

Thanks and best regards
Franz

Franz,

Read in MSDN about Explorer policy NoDrives.
([HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer],"NoDrives"
dword)

Or here is the link for you:

Franz,

That Policy (NoDrives registry) will also affect Internet Explorer.

Also, there is another reg.value that may be interesting to you: NoViewOnDrive. The same rules, the same reg.path:

KM

... in line ..

It "kind of" does, yes. In open and save dialogs the drives are gone. But,
it is still possible to type c: in the address field and then it will show
the contents of the drive and one can then navigate and do whatever ....
Also, there is another reg.value that may be interesting to you:

This is cool! Great!
This is what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot.
