My Granddaughter just called and thinks her puter has been hit by lightning.
She lives in Florida!!! There is no power to the puter. The monitor lightrs
up, displays Power System" and shuts off. But there is no power to the
computer and she cannot even open the drive doors or no lights are showing.

Any help would be greatly appreicated. Ed.

I am not familiar with puters. Perhaps some sort of club used in golf?

However, if she has power to a monitor and also has a computer that does not
turn on, then I would:

a. Try an other socket. Try plug the computer directly into a wall
socket that she knows has power.
b. Have some check the computer power supply.

Well it could be many things. An internal breaker, a power supply
failure a bad outlet etc. Yes lightning is also possible. It is not
possible to tell from here. My money would be on the power supply.
