Life of the locally cached password

We are implementing a VPN solution, we have users that will connect via
laptops although could be away from the office for about 6 months at a time.
I heard recently that the life of a locally cached domain password is 120
days on an XP machine, is this correct?

You have heard wrong, there is to time limit on cached credentials...
