I recently purchased a used Dell computer with Windows XP
home loaded on it. I have transfered ownership through
Dell and was wondering if there was any way to remove the
previous owners name from all files on the machine. I want
to do everything legally and above board with regards to
licensing agreements. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance, Abe
 
Nothing more needs to be done from a licensing point of view.
The best option is to perform a Clean Installation that way you are
sure there is no garbage on the computer.

Line 7 Right column "Change registered..."

Create a new account in User Accounts.
Delete unwanted accounts.
This will effectively remove the old users name from most everything
related to Windows.
