Licensing requirements question

I have a registered domain name, and I want to set up a
website on a 2000 server, for example.

From a licensing perspective what would I need? Is it
simply a WIndows server license?

I believe that the server license is enough to serve a website -- read
licenses carefully if you are using authentication or databases, though.
