License Windows 2K prof

How does licensing works with Microsoft?. I have a network
2K server and 25 licences for Windows 2K prof stations. I
need to put three more stations on the network. What would
be the best way out whether i should buy 3 licences from
the market or call microsoft for 3 more licences. The
question is if microsoft sells individual licences or if i
have to upgrade/buy minimum of another 25 licences which i
may not use all.

Are you talking about licenses to run W2k Pro, or CALs for the workstations
to access the server? You can buy CALs from lots of places. I usually get
mine from CDW. Up to you. You can buy as many or few as you wish.

For OS licensing, I think the open license program doesn't kick in til 5 or
more licenses.
