Hi,

If I have a network with XP Professional clients, do I
need to purchase a Windows 2000 Terminal Services CAL for
each one of them to access a Windows 2000 Server
(appliation mode).
I remember someone telling me, I would not have to, if
the XP client was purchased before May 2003.

Thanks for your help.

You're mixing the requirements for Windows 2000 and Windows 2003
Terminal Services.

If you run W2K on your TS, you do not have to purchase or install
any TS CALs for XP Pro or W2K Pro clients. These clients will get
a free license from the TS Licensing Server (which you must
install and activate on a Domain Controller).

If you run 2003 on your TS, all clients need a TS CAL.
BUT: if you owned your XP Pro desktop licenses before 24 April
2003, you can apply for a free "Transition" TS CAL for XP Pro
clients. These Transition TS CALs must be installed on a 2003
Licensing Server, just like purchased TS CALs.

Thank You for your help.
