Recently my power supply went out and when it did it
fried my mainboard . I had to have them both replaced but
the new power supply wont fit into my old case so i had
to buy and new one. So I basically have a new computer .
My old windows XP is running on here but the more that i
try to do on here the more I find alot of things that are
not working right ( Windows XP knows that this is a new
machine ) What I was wondering is do I need to buy a
whole new WindowXP or can i just buy a License Agreement
from Microsoft and run my old disk with the new
agreement? If I can buy just the agreement where do I go
to get it . Thanks for your help . Anita

The power supply and the Case have no relation to activation. XP isn't
even aware of them. The new Mobo, on the other hand, may hae eput you over
the change limit. in which, case. You merely needto re-activate. Sometimes,
with a new mobo, a "Repair Install" may be necassary.

Also, if you did a reinstall from booting the CD, your programs will have to
be reinstalled as well.
Only a Repair install, or an upgrade from within Windows will retain the use
of installed software.
