Just recently upgraded from win 98 to win xp...New system
came with a lexmark Z700 printer that installs and works
fine...problem is...My better Lexmark, the X125 all in
one keeps crashing...I've installed/unistalled numerous
times..it works for a while and then nothing...I keep
getting usb/ port errors on connection...I haved updated
and installed current drivers...its not digitally signed
for XP compatability but it worked like a champ in
windows 98...Can anyone please steer me in the right
direction...Merry Xmas, Dave

P.S. And A Happy New Year

You kept the printer connected during the upgrade........ now you must do a
COMPLETE uninstall and reinstall of the printer. Disconnect the printer
from the PC.

It's a Lexmark. See Bruce Sanderson's instructions at
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

After rebooting, download a new set of drivers from the Lexmark website and
install the software. Do NOT reconnect the printer to the PC until the
software tells you to do so.
