Lexmark Printer locking up...

I am running Windows XP Home Edition on system and am trying to use a
Lexmark Z45 printer on my USB port with a mouse operating off the
second USB port and just about every time I try and print something on
the Lexmark printer it will lock up usually half way through the page.
I thought it had something to do with printing in Normal mode, but it
now locks using the simplest draft mode... could it be the crapy
Lexmark printer or might there be something in Windows XP that might
be causing it to lock up?

I believe it's more likely to be the printer than the O/S but since it's a
Lexmark, follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions for TOTAL removal and
reinstallation of the printer. Pay particular attention to Bruce's special
section on Lexmarks.

When you're done, download a new set of drivers from the Lexmark website at
www.lexmark.com and install the software BEFORE connecting the printer.

Cari,

Thank you for your advice, suggestions, and reference material. I was
hoping it wouldn't be a hardware issue and now that I tried your
information, my printer works like it is supposed to. I removed the
Printer from my system and installed the newer version designed for
Windows XP.

Your help was and is much appreciated... THANKS!
